Good Friday
Deuteronomy 15:10
“You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings.”
Moses was telling the children of Israel to take care of those who were less fortunate. In the Old Testament and all through the New Testament- we read God’s command to meet the needs of others.
Monetary needs.
Physical needs- like food and water.
Emotional needs like showing love.
Spiritual needs like sharing Jesus.
There is a world out there that needs all of these things. Can we help all of them? No- that’s impossible. But the people that God drops in our path- we are to take care of them.
Jesus didn’t just talk about it- He became our example. He fed the hungry. He healed the sick. He encouraged the downhearted.
This is our challenge- to be like Jesus.
God bless your weekend.
